A group of 102 people set out to find a place where their religious beliefs could be freely practiced in 1621 Plymouth. They were known as pilgrims. They suffered a lot on this journey. Half the pilgrims reached the new world. Others were afflicted by scurvy, contagious diseases, and exposure.
